FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)
WILL IT FADE?
Tuff Turf is made of a blend of polyproylene and polyethylene
fibers that are impossible to dye. They must be manufactured
the desired shade of green. Laboratory testing has revealed that
Tuff Turf will have virtually no color change for at least 20 years,
even under the worst possible conditions.
WHAT ABOUT PETS?
Pets love our product. Tuff Turf is made up of a special type of
fiber,
which is stain and odor resistant. It will need to be cleaned up
and hosed off occasionally to dilute and wash away residue.
Although we don't guarantee your pets won't chew or dig it up,
we will do all we can to prevent that from happening by tucking
and stapling all edges.
HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
We at Tuff Turf build a base that withstands years of play and
most weather conditions. We start with a Geotextile fabric (The
same type used to build roads). This acts as a soil separator to
stabilize the base and prevent it from mixing or sinking into the
natural soil. Couple that with our state of the art synthetic grass
and the life expectancy should be in excess of 15 years.
DOES IT CREATE HEAT?
No, it neither cools like real grass or creates heat like concrete.
It will simply be the same temperature as it is outside. For those
120-degree days in Phoenix we recommend a light mist of water
to cool the grass if kids want to run around barefoot.
WHAT ABOUT EXISTING GRASS?
We have often placed our putting greens up against real grass and
it works great.
WHAT ABOUT MAINTENANCE?
Normal maintenance would be an occasional sweeping or blowing
off of leaves. Putting greens may require some small
adjustments of infill to accommodate your desired ball speed.
